World Tourism Day 2022: Know about the history And Importance
World Tourism Day is celebrated every year on 27 September.
Celebration of this day was started in 1980 and the first World Tourism Day was celebrated in the same year.
The World Tourism Day celebrated in 1980 was celebrated with a theme which was "Contribution of tourism to the preservation of cultural heritage and peace and mutual understanding".
The main objective of celebrating this day is to spread awareness among the people about the impact of tourism.
Tourism connects the world and gives knowledge about each other's culture, not only this day it spreads awareness about the global challenge given in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The day was initiated by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
The United Nations World Tourism Organization was established 46 years ago in November 1975.
